Some video of my presentation

Here is footage from the presentation I made for the Windempowerment Conference in Athens last month. Actually this is a backup that was not used at the conference as I was able to make the same presentation live (and said a whole lot of different things, I think). Anyway this backup version is too long to upload as a single video so I have split it into 3 parts: Scoraig Stories, Alternator Design, and a shorter subsection: Ferrite Magnet Windmill.  This last is an intro to my new 2F design document

sorry about the poor sound quality

About hugh

I live off-grid in NW Scotland and have spent my life playing with wind turbines. I also love small hydros. Hands on renewable energy is my thing and I like to learn and to share my experiences.

Dear Hugh, i have your plans for the 2f design and would be very interested in building the 3F. wind turbine. Would it be possible to purchase a set of plans from you. I have also dabbled with the idea of a machine with 19 inch rotors, 16 50mm by 75mm ferrite magnets per rotor and a 3.6m blade but was wondering how many coil windings to use in the stator coils for a 48volt machine. Hope t0 hear from you soon.

    Kind Regards,
    Arthur Sheridan.

      Hi Arthur,

I tried to reply by email but the address did not work. You can email me at [email protected]

I can send a draft version of the 3F plans that gives all the info you will need but it’s not a very finished document. Donation would be welcome.

      3F uses 40 cm diameter disks and 16 magnets 75×50 each disk. I also have a 4F design using 50cm disks with 20 magnets each 75 x 50.

      cheers
      Hugh
