Homes needed for small wind turbines

V3 write:- “We run courses building small DIY wind turbines, sometimes these courses are purely educational and the turbine built on the course does not have a home to go to. We want to get these turbines generating electricity so are looking for people who would be interested in hosting a turbine or buying them from us at cost price. People living off-grid would be especially suitable. The turbine is designed by Hugh Piggott and is robust and easily maintained. We have installed many of these turbines (see the previous courses page for examples) and are happy and keen to discuss any queries so please get in touch!”

About hugh

I live off-grid in NW Scotland and have spent my life playing with wind turbines. I also love small hydros. Hands on renewable energy is my thing and I like to learn and to share my experiences.

I live on a barge on Lough Erne Co. Fermanagh N.I. I am off grid and have solar panels and a little diesel generator. I am 60 years old and have worked in mechanical and electricial engineering all my life. I built my own barge and have worked on boat mechanics and 12v electrics for years. I have no experience of wind turbines, yet I bought one recently. It is a Hornet and was advertised as a 12/24v 600w turbine. The best it will do is 150w at 15v in 30 mph winds. That is only 10a which would take for ever to charge my 450ah battery bank.I want to learn more about these Pma units and discuss with you any ideas you have on this. Willie Anderson.
