12 ferrite magnets 75 x 50 mm (3 x 2 inches)

440 mm rotor diameter disk

250 turns (2 x 0.8mm dia wire) for a 36 volt battery 1000 watt output

    Hi my name is Tenda from South Africa working at the central university of technology Bloemfontein. I was looking for a fan that can produce a breaking torque of 500 n.m. It should be an air resistance fan, the faster it rotates the more the resistance, bringing it to a constant speed of 1.8 m/s. looking forward to your early reply thank you

      I am sorry Tenda but I do not design fans for braking nor for any other purpose, so I can’t help you there.

    Considering that his using ferrite magnets (I know how expensive Neo magnets are) can his stator and blade diameter specifications be able to produce 1kW ? Am also interested to know where exactly in south Africa he is building it.

    Buna ziua.Sunt intersat de constructia unei eoliane cu diametrul eliciei de 3m cu 8 lame cu magneti de ferita .Puterea generatorului sa fie de maxim 1,5 kw ,eventual cu bobinele cu miez de fier. Problema cea mai mare este ca nu o pot ridica mai mult de 8 m iar condiitiile de vint si obstacolele din jur nu imi asigura decit o turatie in cea mai mare parte a timpuli decit 20 de ture /minut. Ma intrseaza cam cit trebue sa fie diametrul generatorului ,numarul de magneti si cam ce dimensiuni. Va multumesc

      hi Viorel, You will not get 1.5kW if the wind is so weak. If the wind is strong enough to produce useful power then it is also strong enough to spin the blades faster than that. Iron cores are not a good idea if the wind is very light because they will take some of the power. Try to reduce the friction and other losses. Building a good alternator cannot give you more power than the wind can produce though. In the end it’s frustrating to try to generate wind energy on short towers among trees and buildings.
