Hugh Piggott Wind Turbine Components

V3 have been building my turbines for over 8 years and are able to provide full bespoke kits or separate components.

Bespoke kits comprise a set of three hand-carved blades, alternator and mounting. The turbines can be installed as a grid-tie or to charge a battery bank and can come as 12V, 24V, 48V or higher voltages for use with grid tie inverters.

Each component of the kit is also available separately.

Blades, stator, magnet disks, mounting with tail.

I am really interested to hear what you do. I am planning to design an Aberdeen inter schools competition to find a suitable site for micro hydro in the city and shire, design it and test the economics. I am working with Techfest who currently do a similar competition for oil field development called STEM in the pipeline. So looking to do a eco version. Will involve more subjects than STEM geography English economics etc

I am an engineer who tried msths teacher training but the strict UK school system didn’t allow for my creativity so trying an alternative education route which involve my 3 passions developing young people STEM and renewables.

Wondered if you’d be interested in her to g involved in the competition design at all. If we find suitable sites these could turn into real projects although the head will be low at a few metres. Many of the burns in Aberdeen run underground and I wondered if that gave you a ready made penstock – am I being nieve? I guess flooding is the potential issues

Looking forward to hearing from you

    Kind regards Andrew Fowler
