with all due respect, wood may not be a suitable material where you live but here in Scotland it is very good indeed. It is light and strong and resistant to fatigue. Wooden blades are much more reliable than fibreglass ones in my experience over the last forty years. It is also easy and pleasant to make blades by hand. So yes, for the Scottish (or European) home-builder it is the best material to use.
