Yes I lay the pipes end to end concentric at home, and I prepare pieces of flat bar that are bolted together, and lay them on the pipes, and weld one bar to each pipe. Then unbolt them and take the pipes onto the site and reassemble them. This connects them securely. It does not need to work against severe bending stresses or anything since the guys support the tower. They just couple the pipes together neatly. I’ve used this system for many years.
