PowerSpout price increase

PowerSpout plan to increase prices of their hydro turbines and associated gear by approximately 15% on 1st April. This will be the first rise in several years. At present exchange rates, a turbine costs approximately £1190 with an additional £150 shipping cost from NZ. Often you can add a few items to your order and get free shipping.

To accept an order we need some detailed site information. I can help you with this and with the details of your hydro system design and let you know if it’s going to be worth doing or not. I spend much of my life these days chatting with people on email or phone to sort these things out and it’s a fascinating task.     I am fitting a Micro Hydroelectric system on my farm and I need help selecting piping for my project.
    Water will be collected from two sources which are at the same elevation.
    The first 2 sections using a total of 400 meters of pipe will be at a max static pressure of 10 PSI. I am not taking water hammer into account. I can fit a vertical vent pipe at the end of these sections to minimize water hammer. A Solid Unperforated Land Drain Coil Pipe 160mm x 50m may be suitable for this section. Have you got any experience with this pipe at low pressures?
    The next section using of 185 Meters takes the static pressure from 10 PSI to 23 PSI. Here at the end of this section I will consider fitting a pressure relief system to give some protection the pipe from water hammer. In this section I can use one pipe or continue with two pipes of 5” or 6” for less friction loss. Can you recommend a suitable cost effective pipe?
    The last section using 150 meters of 5 inch or a 6 inch pipe takes the static pressure to 32 PSI. Here again I will plan on fitting a pressure relief system. This will need a higher spec pipe for this section. Can you recommend a suitable pipe?
    The flow rate required is up to 350 Gallons per Min (26.5 Liters Per Second) and I ideally need to keep Friction losses below 10%. I need the pipes in coils of 50 meters or more.
    I would also consider pipes with superficial damage if there was a significant cost saving.
    Please give approx. prices of pipes.
